So it's been nearly a month, shoot me. No wait, please don't shoot me I kinnd of like my life at the moment. I'm learning so much. Work is good, full time is kind of taking it out of me, but somehow I find the energy to get things done and to still have a bit of relaxation. Today is the first day off for the week, so I slept in. Bad idea. My head is swimming. Oh well. I walked downtown to Mello Joy for a muffin and coffee and sat outside. I met a nice fellow and we just sat outside drinking our coffee and talking about cars, money, economy, travelling... you know - the typical coffee shop stuff. It's times like today that remind me why I like that stuff. It was so relaxing.
My band finally has a working name. Remember about a month ago when I had the fight, drank the pitchers and got sick all before midnight? Well, maybe you don't, but that night in my drunken state (I think this was only one pitcher into the night) I came up with the name The Sex Machine. Well, we've settled and that's what it shall be called. Chris and I wrote two songs (yet to have lyrics) on sunday, and hopefully tomorrow I can get him to head out and write a couple more with me. And with the cover we'll learn that'll be five songs. You know what five songs means? That's enough for an open. So I put the first show, or the time we'll be ready for the first show about mid october. Hey, if I'm lucky maybe we can play my birthday on the 2nd. (Right)
I'm writing a ghost story. Brought on by my new hobby of veiwing cheesy B horror films. I've decided that my first son will be named Herschel Gordon Lewis (whatever). "Why do you have four names you're not catholic?" to which my son shall respond "why do you have three? so and so isn't famous"
Ok, I think that's enough of an update. The Transmission CD is out so go to the website (which I believe is www.thetransmissionrock.moonfruit.com) and get yourself one. Trust me you won't be sorry. If the sales and turnout from friday (the release party) is any indication of how loved these guys are... then you'll be writing them love letters with lipstick in no time!
